When you create an account, we collect: your email address, codename (username), and an encrypted password. When you use Atlas, we store: your stock analysis queries, Ember conversation history (linked to your codename), and usage metrics (query counts for rate limiting).
Your email is used solely for account verification and critical service notifications. Your codename is your public identity within Atlas. Your conversation data powers Ember's persistent memory feature. Usage metrics enforce rate limits. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
Your data is stored on Upstash Redis (cloud-hosted, encrypted at rest). Passwords are hashed with per-user salts and are never stored in plain text. Session cookies are cryptographically signed and expire after 7 days.
Your queries are processed by Anthropic Claude (AI model). Queries are sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic's data handling policies apply to API interactions. We do not train AI models on your data.
We use a single "strictly necessary" session cookie (atlas-session) to maintain your login state. This cookie is httpOnly, secure, and cannot be read by JavaScript. No tracking cookies, analytics cookies, or advertising cookies are used.
You may: (a) request a copy of your stored data; (b) request deletion of your account and all associated data; (c) update your email or password. To exercise these rights, contact the Atlas administrator.
Account data is retained for the life of your account. If you delete your account, all personal data (email, password hash, conversation history) is permanently removed within 30 days. Anonymized usage statistics may be retained.
Atlas is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us for removal.
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, signed session tokens, and encrypted-at-rest data storage. However, no system is perfectly secure.
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via the service.
